Pet CPR and First Aid Certified

April has had a passion for animals her whole life, growing up working on a dairy farm and fostering former fight dogs for the ASPCA. In college, she started volunteering at the Shedd Aquarium with the large marine mammals and working at one of the largest No-Kill shelters in Chicago. There she spent many years working with and learning from some of the best trainers, behaviorists, and veterinarians in the city. It was there she learned how to create and run specialized playgroups designed to bring out the best in the participants. She has a special love for the awkward and weird dogs, always ready to think of new ways to help dogs build relationships and confidence.

In her free time April continues her education on canine medicine and behavior through seminars and workshops, including Terry Ryan's Chicken Camp in 2019. April is currently working towards a Canine Behavior Consultant certification with her husky mix Preston.
